There are some opportunities that you just have that feeling about.

I need to do this.

Now, there are always reasons to say no or put things off. Saying yes might be messy and chaotic. But it also may be just the right thing for you, your business, your clients, and collaboration partners.

In this episode we explore

  • When to say YES to opportunity
  • What to consider when you’re seizing an opportunity
  • Normalizing that things will go wrong and how to roll with it
  • Why doing it messy is the right move every time (over no movement at all)

[1:15] I took a risk and it was worth it!- This was a time I just knew the opportunity was the right move. There are reasons I knew I had to say yes, even though I didn’t know how it would turn out.

[3:03] Surfing the wave of opportunity- Just like surfing an ocean wave, you have to be willing to jump on. Sometimes you’ll find just the right moment to jump on, and sometimes you’ll tumble.

[5:06] Planning for failure- Having a Plan B gives you something to fall back on, and helps stay in the right mindset in the case of a setback.

[8:45] Perfection is NOT the goal- We focus way too much on perfection - it’s okay to be messy. Some of the best work comes with a messy process.

[12:15] Noticing and seizing an opportunity- What signs and requests tip you off to the right opportunity..

[14:58] This is how we roll- On the outside, events may seem to have just a couple blips.  Rest assured, even the best events have way more blips than you imagine.  Let’s pull back the curtain, normalize that things go wrong, and celebrate “rolling with it” for the Win!.

[31:54] With so many things that didn’t go right, was it still a success?- Heck ya!  It doesn’t have to be “perfect” to be perfect.  The intent of the event was met >100%.   AND there are tons of requests to do it again.

[32:40] Finding support for opportunities you want to say yes to- The Unshakable Business Co-Lab could be just the support you need to feel confident seizing the next opportunity that comes along.

Are you at a time in your life or business where you are not moving forward? Are you possibly stopping yourself from going forward because of the fear of failure (or even the fear of success)?

These thoughts have nestled their way into all our minds at one point or another––What if it doesn't work? What if it goes bad? What will “they” think?

If this resonates with you, then I’m here to help you not only resolve these thoughts, but to shift your thoughts and mindset to a place that will set you up for success and move your business forward.

In this episode we explore

  • Times when thoughts of failure might creep in
  • Ways to resolve the thoughts
  • The impact these thoughts have on your business and mental health
  • How to process emotions during an end or a pivot
  • How to take pieces of a misstep and repurpose what you can
  • Setting limits, using data, and adjusting your mindset

[1:30] Defining “it” when you have thoughts of failure- What is the “it” in the thought of What if it doesn’t work? Is it your business or a piece of your business?

[3:22] Are your thoughts of failure stopping you before you start?- The fear that it won’t work, or possibly even input from other people, could be stopping you in your tracks as you launch your next big idea.

[8:09] Doing your research can increase your chance for success- Market and customer research is one step in the right direction to prevent feelings of disappointment and increase your chances of success.

[10:40] Dealing with judgment- Sometimes we’re our own worst critic, but sometimes we have people who are less than encouraging. How should you handle this?

[14:15] Fear of success?- Is fearing your own success even possible? Well it turns out yes it is, and sometimes it is the thing that is holding you back!

[16:28] Thoughts of failure when you’re “in flight”- It’s rarely ever the whole business that isn’t working. When thoughts of failure creep in while you’re “in flight” there are ways to stay grounded in data and processes to make adjustments.

[20:26] Maybe the data says it's not working. Now what?- Is it time to pull the plug? Is it time to pivot?

[26:05] “What if it doesn’t work?” becomes your reality- Not all business ideas are going to be successes. So now it is time to deal with the negative feelings, which is not easy, but it is possible.

[30:33] I can help you bring your vision to life!- I would love to support you while you navigate not only your thoughts and mindset, but also the nitty-gritty details of launching your business.
